On Wednesday, within the walls of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, a scientific-practical conference “Learning to speak Russian. Problems of the modern language in electronic media ”.

The participants discussed the problems of native speech on television and radio and analyzed how journalism can positively influence the language culture in the Russian community.

“The mass media form certain, often unconscious linguistic tastes among consumers of mass communications. For example, many journalists, when speaking on the air, prefer spontaneous speech, which is accompanied by loose literary norms. Analysis of media texts allows you to obtain operational information about the state of language culture in society. This should be done by science ”, – the rector of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Victor Sadovnichy.

The academician drew attention to examples of deliberate distortion of the Russian language on the Internet, such as “preved”, “hellish sotana”, “author burns.”

The participants held discussions on the tendencies in the development of the Russian language on TV and radio, their role in increasing the cultural and speech level of the audience and reflected on how the literacy of journalistic texts can be controlled.

“Listening to TV or radio announcers, I make sure to write down all the mistakes of the presenters,” said Lyudmila Verbitskaya, President of the Russian Academy of Education.

She recalled the words of the philosopher Vladimir Solovyov, who said that each person should own three styles of speech: high – to address God, medium – to communicate with the interlocutor and low, to use it only in an internal monologue with oneself.

“Today the middle style has taken the place of the high, and the low – the place of the middle. Workers of television channels are forced to disguise obscene expressions, in recent years vernacular layers have penetrated into the literary language, mistakes in stress have appeared, “the president of RAO says.

Within the framework of the conference, acting TV and radio journalists were presented with awards “For exemplary speech on the air.” Among the most literate were the presenter of the Russia-1 channel Mikhail Zelensky, the publicist, the host of the Russia K TV channel Alexander Arkhangelsky and the presenter of the morning news of Channel One, Larisa Medvedskaya.

“We have carried out monitoring of the broadcasts of the TV channels of the first and second multiplexes by the method of random sampling for compliance with orthoepic norms. These three candidates are almost a unanimous decision, ”added Elena Vartanova, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University.

Also, the participants were shown a documentary film “Word on the Air” about the Russian language on Soviet television and presented a mobile application “1000 Word Forms. Orthoepic Dictionary for Electronic Media Workers ”.

A long-term practice of researching media speech has long been established at Moscow University. The first department of stylistics was founded at the Faculty of Journalism. Dictionaries for workers in the press, television and radio were also created by researchers from Moscow State University and are still relevant today.

The exhibition runs all day long. In addition to lectures and the opportunity to learn a lot of new participants in the event, there will also be a pleasant bonus – a competition with valuable prizes, the results of which will be announced at the end of the Navigator.
